　６月に支給が始まった子ども手当について、日本在住の外国人が母国に残した子ども７７４６人にも支給されたことが３日、自民党の調査で分かった。２０１０年度分は計約１０億円が配られる計算になる。

　都道府県を通じて４月末時点の該当者数を調査した。同党の加藤勝信衆院議員によると、うち７２４６人は子ども手当の前身の児童手当も受け取っており、５００人は新たに支給対象となった子どもという。未回答の市町村もあり、人数はさらに増える可能性がある。

　長妻昭厚生労働相は３日の衆院厚労委員会で、国による実態調査を行い、９月末までに結果を公表する方針を表明した。

　自民党は「日本の税金が外国人に支給されている」と批判しており、長妻厚労相は１１年度からは子どもの国内居住要件を設ける方針を既に明らかにしている。
